This creation immediately took my attention because it is based on one of the most ferocious pick-up trucks on the market. Hennessey took into account that if the Ford Raptor got the treatment of being turned into an SUV, then it would make sense for the RAM TRX to receive this conversion. This mainly includes a C-Pillar which looks like they’ve just fitted a canopy but they did more than that in order to make it a proper 7-seater SUV. This is for the lads who are big on trucks but still have a family to think about, so they get to benefit the best of both worlds and a whole lot more.
Like the TRX, the Mammoth has the same 6.2-litre Hellcat V8 that chunks out most of the bizarre power output to make way for a 3.2 seconds 0-97 km/h sprint time. That is on par with a Ferrari Portofino and a Lamborghini Huracan. Insane speeds are what it can do but because its DNA is of an extreme off-road truck, it has been lifted by a further 2.5 inches of ground clearance and has a front suspension levelling kit.
The exterior look is similar to its counterpart but there are various changes apart from the rear-side window and rear screen change. The front sports a custom bumper design with LED lights and a bull bar, whilst the rear has a different bumper. The side includes Hennessey-specific 10-spoke wheels, 20 inches in size wrapped in 35-inch road tires. The whole look is badass and it takes on a noticeable ladder on frame impression.
The V8 heart is much more beastly than usual. The name of the SUV is Mammoth 1000 and straight away you’d expect it to have 1000 hp but they’ve managed to squeeze 12 hp more. So, it is a total of 1012 hp (755 kW) and 1300 Nm of torque. To achieve this height, they switched the stock Supercharger for a larger 2.65-litre capacity, changed the fluids and gaskets, installed a high-flow air induction system together with improved fuel injectors, installation of high-flow catalytic converters, and they fitted upper and low pulley upgrades.
All of those upgrades amount to a unique driving experience that can be enjoyed by two more extra passengers who will sit comfortably in the middle row captain chair seats. The production number is limited to only 20 units and each comes with a 2-year/24,000 miles warranty. Price? If you were a lucky customer to get one of these when it was revealed on April 27th, then surely you paid $375 000.
